Manchester City jump into battle for Barcelona fullback

Manchester City are eyeing Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba, according to Tuttosport. It has been reported that the Premier League club Manchester United have made contact with the agent of the Spaniard over a possible move to Old Trafford next summer.  The deal is believed to be around £133m. Recently Alba denied the rumours over his contract talks with the club chiefs. “No news. I don’t know Barcelona’s plans on me,” said Alba. “It’s strange because my deal with the club expires soon. I would like to finish my career at Barcelona, but we’ll see because I don’t know what the club wants.” Alba’s current deal with Barcelona expires in 2020 and Pep Guardiola, who still has concerns over his left-back is aware of his frustrations. The 29-year-old has made 17 appearances for Barca this season, and has scored two goals and provided six assists.
