Manchester City join the race for Premier League star amid Manchester United links

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish for the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old has played a key role in Dean Smith's side, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 appearances in all competitions last season. His huge contribution helped the Villains secure their place in the Premier League, following the club's 1 - 1 win over West Ham. Manchester United were the front-runners to sign Villa captain, however, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, City are currently showing more interest than the Red Devils. Speaking on the Ornstein & Chapman Podcast, Ornstein claimed Pep Guardiola's side have joined the rivalry for the English professional's transfer. However, added that Villa will be keen to keep their talisman at the club, considering him as their best player. Grealish could be a good addition, should he join the Citizens, while Guardiola previously shared his thoughts on the player, describing him as an “incredible, incredible player”.
