Manchester City fans tell Pep Guardiola what to do with Eric Garcia after contract rejection

Manchester City fans have told head coach Pep Guardiola and the club to cash in on Eric Garcia after learning that the young defender does not want to sign a new contract. The 19-year-old has told City that he does not intend on extending his stay in Manchester, as Barcelona are interested. Guardiola has given Garcia plenty of first team action since the restart as the Citizens tried to convince him to stay, and the Spaniard ended the Premier League season as first choice at centre-back alongside Aymeric Laporte. In his press conference before City faced Real Madrid, Guardiola said: "He announced to us he doesn't want to extend his contract with City. "He has one more year and then after that, he doesn't want to extend. We wanted to but he doesn't want to. We imagine he wants to play in another place." Now, with the news that Garcia could leave on a free next summer, fans have told City to sell him during this transfer window and focus on the players that are under contract at the Etihad. There were few hard feelings from fans, who understood the draw of Garcia's boyhood club Barcelona, but they would prefer players like Taylor Harwood-Bellis, new signing Nathan Ake, and the out-of-form John Stones to be preferred to Garcia from now on as they are more committed to the club.
