Manchester City fans send formation message to Pep Guardiola ahead of Manchester United fixture

Manchester City fans want to see the club playing with a back three for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Manchester United next week. The Citizens have celebrated their New Year Day 2 - 1 victory over Everton. During the clash the club boss Pep Guardiola operated with a back three in a change from his usual 4-1-2-2-1 formation. The City players, including Eric Garcia, Fernandinho and Rodri, have inpressed with their game. When MEN Sport asked fans what defensive formation City should use against the Red Devils, the club supporters voted for the back three to continue. 84 per cent of the fans have backed the three to remain, while 16 per cent prefers a return to a standard back four.
