Manchester City will face a Champions League ban if UEFA find them guilty of strict spending rules.
On Monday UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin described the issue as a “concrete case” and confirmed they are reassessing the issue after UEFA confirmed they are re-examining their Financial Fair Play investigation into the club.
Ceferin said: “We are assessing the situation. We have an independent body working on it. Very soon we will have the answers on what will happen in this concrete case.”
City accepted a £49m fine in 2014 as part of a UEFA punishment for breaching FFP rules as well as a limit on their European squad and limit on their transfers and wage bill.
