Manchester City eye young defender over injury-plagued Benjamin Mendy

Defender Benjamin Mendy has undergone two knee operations since his move to Manchester City 18 months ago from Monaco. Mendy’s injuries have forced Pep Guardiola into using midfielders Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko on the left side of his defence. As per TheSun, Manchester City are eyeing Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell as a back up for Benjamin Mendy. Chilwell, whose contract is until 2024, has started 22 games this season and has 2 assists in his account.
