Manchester City break silence after players sing a mocking song about Liverpool

Image/Getty
Manchester City deny the song sang by players while celebrating the EPL title has any links with Liverpool fan Sean Cox or the Hillsborough tragedy. "Any suggestion that the lyrics relate to Sean Cox or the Hillsborough tragedy is entirely without foundation," statement from the club says (via Sky Sports). Pep Guardiola’s side beat Brighton & Hove Albion at AMEX Stadium to keep one point advantage over Merseyside club to win second consecutive EPL title. The video posted by YourMCFC twitter account shows several Man City players (Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gundogan and Kyle Walker can be seen) mocking Liverpool by singing a song with those lyrics (via Daily Mail): “All the way to Kiev, To end up in defeat, Crying in the stands, And battered on the streets, Kompany injured Salah, Victims of it all, Sterling won the double, The Scousers won f*** all, Allez, allez, allez.” https://twitter.com/YourMCFC/status/1128273265603039232
