Manager Shelly Finkel reveals Wilder's plans over Fury fight

Deontay Wilder is bidding for a third fight with Tyson Fury this year, according to his manager Shelly Finkel. The American lost his rematch with Fury in February after the draw in the first fight. But Wilder does have a clause in his contract allowing him to demand another fight. Fury's US promoters Top Rank said they were aiming for a possible date of December 19 for the trilogy bout. And now Wilder's co-manager has confirmed that his client will have a chance to win back his WBC title before the end of 2020. "Deontay will fight Fury this year," Finkel told Sky Sports. Fury's own UK promoter Frank Warren believes Wilder is confident and will look to avenge the seventh-round stoppage loss. "I don't know what Deontay can bring that's any different from the previous two fights," Warren told Sky Sports last month. "He feels that he can. I know speaking to Shelly Finkel his manager, he's very, very confident. He believes he's got the beating of Tyson. That remains to be seen." It will come as a blow to Whyte, who is the mandatory challenger for Fury's WBC belt. His promoter Eddie Hearn had suggested Whyte could face Fury next if Wilder did not want a third contest.
