Lyon chief responds to Houssem Aouar transfer links with Arsenal

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas has responded to transfer speculations, linking Houssem Aouar with Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with the move for French midfielder for the summer transfer window, with the club also having Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey on their radar. Yesterday it was reported that Mikel Arteta's side have reportedly agreed over personal terms with the 22-year-old. However,  Aulas has claimed Arsenal have not made an offer yet. Asked if Gunners are likely to agree a deal for Aouar, Lyon president told journalist Chris Wheatley: “No I don’t think so. “No offer yet. It seems that Arsenal don’t want to – or can’t – invest the price for Houssem, who is our best player.” Arsenal are understood to be looking to offload a number of players in order to fund a move for the new midfielder.
