"The first couple of games of pre-season... it's always hard to get the running back in the legs," the left-back told LCFC TV. "That's what they're for, getting fitness in. The result didn't turn out the way we wanted it to today, but I suppose we will bounce back and go again on Saturday. "The main focus at the minute is fitness and, over the time and games, the football is going to come and we'll start scoring goals and getting results that we want. The more games you play, like I say, you get fitter and fitter. "The first two weeks of pre-season was hard, but that's what you expect in the first couple of weeks, which has helped, and then obviously to get these two games under the belt has always been a benefit to everyone's fitness."
