Lucas Moura has outlined the key characteristic that Tottenham need to improve on under Jose Mourinho.
The Spurs face hard times, having no wins in the Premier League since Boxing Day. Yet, they have to be on action without one of their main forwards Harry Kane due to his long-term injury.
The club is 8 points behind Chelsea in the race for the league top four.
As the Spurs have to struggle for later wins and to be qualified for the Champions League, Lucas Moura has called on the team to strengthen their mentality.
He said after the 0-0 draw against Watford: “It’s true that it’s not a good moment for us. We know that we need to win but we are working. We are working hard every day in training and every game. I am sure that we will improve and we will win very soon, hopefully the next game. We just need to be stronger mentally and keep working. That’s the football.”
The winger also said that he is doing what he can upfront to help the team to succeed.
“For sure I want to score, I work to score and I try to score every time, but for me the most important thing is to win games. We know that we don’t have a player like Harry Kane, he’s the only real striker in the squad. When I play in this position I try to do my best and try to give the team my characteristics. I think everyone is trying to score and to win games. The most important thing for me is playing good and helping the team,” he added.
