Liverpool's strongest line-up to face Leeds United on opening Premier League day

Liverpool will begin their Premier League title defence with a game against newly-promoted Leeds United on September 12. During the summer transfer window, the Reds have so far signed only one player - Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos. Jurgen Klopp's side, however, have strongly been linked with a move for Bayern Munich's Thiago Alcantara. While the fans are waiting for new arrivals, especially Thiago, LiverpoolECHO have taken a look at how Liverpool could line-up against Leeds United for the opening day. Alisson will take his usual place in goal, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson will form the defence. Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita will form the midfield, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane leading the attack. Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Mane Substitutes: Adrian, Tsimikas, Milner, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino source - LiverpoolECHO Join us on Telegram
