Liverpool’s Gini Wijnaldum speaks out on Champions League final and team’s preparation
Liverpool continue preparation for their final match of the season. Reds’ midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has spoken out on team’s current conditions and the upcoming match against Tottenham.
Wijnaldum said they have been training to improve not only individually, but also as a team. Dutchman says this was the key of team’s success this season.
Liverpool have been involved in an epic title race with Manchester City. Despite 97 points, Merseyside club still haven’t managed to return the title to Anfield, as Pep Guardiola’s side finished the season with incredible 98 points.
Wijnaldum, who has been involved in Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Barcelona and scored two goals, said they are currently trying to come back to the standard rhythm of the season ahead of Champions League final against Tottenham, which will be played at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
Netherlands national team star added that they continue working hard and they are trying to get used to the unusual weather by training at Marbella, Spain.
Liverpool won two EPL games against Spurs with the same score, 2-1. Wijnaldum concluded Tottenham are a very good team and the latest games were tough, therefore, they should be very careful against Pochettino’s side.
