Liverpool's best-case squad for 2021/22 season

Premier League 2020/2021 season is coming to its end and the summer transfer window’s opening day is getting closer.  Liverpool made few signings during last summer transfer window as the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas joined them. Ahead of the summer transfer window, Liverpool fans are hoping to see new additions to the squad after having had a difficult season. Currently, the Reds are 7th in the league table and Jurgen Klopp's side have been struggling with several injuries. As the transfer window opening day is approaching, Express Sport have taken a look at how Liverpool could look next season if Jurgen Klopp seals some deals. The Reds have been linked with numerous players over the years and the one name that keeps coming around is PSG star Kylian Mbappe. And if Mbappe arrives, it would mean that Mohamed Salah could depart from Liverpool as his future remains uncertain with speculations linking him with a move to Spain. Moving from the front line to back, Klopp will want to make reinforcements as during this season the Reds suffered with several injuries, mostly in the defense, and the ideal target would be David Alaba, who will become a free agent in the summer. Georginio Wijnaldum, whose contract expires in the summer, has been linked with a move to Barcelona and should he depart the Reds will be in need to find a replacement for him and Renato Sanches could be brought in as Wijnaldum's replacement. Meanwhile,  Joel Matip, Divock Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shaqiri, who have struggled with injuries and had a limited of playing time, could be sold in the summer.
