Rio Ferdinand has urged Liverpool to sign Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling.
The England international has been a subject for criticism with him only scoring once so far for Pep Guardiola’s men in all competitions this season.
Ferdinand was discussing Sterling’s situation on
his Five Podcast. And when it was put to him that he was not going to move to another Premier League heavyweight, the former Manchester United defender suggested that his former club should come calling.
“There must be clubs sitting there going: ‘Boy, let me see how this situation pans out because I would take Sterling all day’,” said Ferdinand.
“If I’m Liverpool, I’d buy Sterling tomorrow.”
