Former Chelsea star Craig Burle has urged Liverpool to prioritise a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz this summer.
The Reds and Manchester United were said to have targeted the German international, with the German media outlet
SPORT BILD suggesting recently that Leverkusen are expecting a bid from Jurgen Klopp's side.
Burle thinks Havertdz would be a right option for the Reds rather than RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
He told
ESPN FC:
"I think that squad will be replenished at the end of the season. There’s been talks of Lallana going and one or two others.I can see him going in for a player like this to bolster the Liverpool squad. I think it makes more sense for Havertz to go there than Werner.
Werner wants to play every week, and with that front three at Liverpool that’s going to be difficult. It makes sense for Liverpool to go for him. It makes sense for young talented guys to come in and bolster the squad."
