Liverpool to make Jose Mourinho angry with transfer for Virgil van Dijk replacement

Liverpool could make a move for a man who almost joined Tottenham last month, according to ESPN. The Reds are facing the prospect of being without Virgil van Dijk for the vast majority of the season, if not the whole campaign. And head coach Jurgen Klopp has seemingly turned his attentions to the Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, who was targeted by Spurs boss Jose Mourinho before the closure of the summer transfer window. The ESPN claim that Spurs held "lengthy negotiations" with Inter in a bid to sign the defender, who came with an lofty price tag of around €60million. Skriniar has often been compared to his fellow Slovakian Martin Skrtel, the former Liverpool defender, but possesses a better quality on the ball than the 35-year-old. Spurs eventually moved for Swansea's Joe Rodon having failed in their attempts to sign Skriniar, although Mourinho is still known to be a fan of the 25-year-old. Join us on Telegram Source- Mirror
