Liverpool tipped to seal £40m deal after transfer come-and-get-me plea to Jurgen Klopp

Kevin Phillips has backed Liverpool to sign Ismaila Sarr this summer. The former striker thinks the Senegal international has the potential to be a star at Anfield. The Hornets were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season, creating question marks surrounding the future of Sarr. He cost a club-record £30million last summer from Rennes and Watford are not keen on letting him go for cheap. According to Phillips, Sarr would fit Liverpool's style like a glove. He told Football Insider: “He would be a good signing for Liverpool. I like him a lot. I was amazed when he first went there that he was not played straight away because he arrived for a lot of money. Nigel Pearson got the best out of him. He started to score some goals and from what I have been told from within the club he is a top player and will only get better. “Any of those big clubs like Liverpool will be looking and if they can get him out of there on decent money he could turn out to be a great signing.” Source: Express
