Liverpool had surprise training preparations for Barcelona showdown

On Wednesday night Liverpool were focused on their training preparations ahead of Barcelona showdown. Liverpool are desperate to bring an advantage to Anfield for the semi-final second leg and football consultant Ian McGarry has revealed that Jurgen Klopp decided light training sessions were the best way to prepare for the crucial game. “To me, they look like a team that are playing on adrenaline. From what I’ve heard from inside the Liverpool camp is that the training sessions are very, very light,” he told The Transfer Window podcast. “There’s no reason for them to be doing a lot of physical or even tactical work now because they know exactly how they play, they go out and play the same way week in week out and Klopp has effectively said, I trust you to simply win matches based on what we’ve worked upon for the last two years and what you can achieve. “So they’re playing with a bit of freedom now, which I think they didn’t have for some of last season in that their mindset is different, and this is something which I think Manchester City have struggled with a little bit with [Pep] Guardiola, who overthinks, and we saw that obviously in the quarter-final defeat in the Champions League."
