Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk got a head-start on his preparations for next season. The Dutch defender was spotted at a training base in the Algarve where Rangers are currently holding their pre-season camp. Van Dijk is believed to have kept his distance and worked alongside his personal trainer as he maintains his fitness. The Dutch player, who formerly played for Rangers' arch-rivals Celtic, enjoyed a stunning first season at Anfield after his £75m switch from Southampton. Van Dijk has decided he wants to get in some extra fitness work in Portugal to ensure he is in top condition as they prepare for a fresh assault at the Premier League title in 2019/20.
