Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq have expressed interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson after confirming Steven Gerrard as their new manager.
While initially rejecting the move, Gerrard has signed a two-year deal with the Pro League outfit ahead of the upcoming season and one of his primary targets is reported to be the Reds' captain.
The midfielder has been an integral part of the Merseysiders for 12 years and is contracted with the club until 2025. It remains to be seen if he would be enticed by the financial incentives offered in the Saudi league, given his long-standing commitment to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp's side have already signed two midfielders during the summer transfer window and is reportedly targeting a third, which could potentially reduce Henderson's playing time significantly in the upcoming season.
This situation could have implications for the future of the 33-year-old England international if an offer materializes from Ettifaq, as Gerrard seeks to bring his former teammate along on this new venture.
