Liverpool will refuse to let Simon Mignolet leave this week and instead force him to be back-up to No 1 keeper Alisson, according to The Guardian.
The 30-year-old reiterated his desire to leave over the weekend.
He said: "I find it bizarre that Karius was loaned while I also had options to be loaned, but for some reason that was not possible.
"The transfer of Karius doesn't change anything for me. I have always been clear. I want to play."
Fifa's deadline for all transfers is this Friday and the club are firm in their stance when it comes to Mignolet.
