Liverpool have received a transfer boost in their pursuit of Ozan Kabak as Schalke have dropped the asking price for the centre-back.
Reds have been linked with the move for the 20-year-old defender as a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk. The latter is set to be out of action for a long term, following the serious injury he picked up during the Merseyside Derby with Eveton.
As the January transfer window is nearing, Jurgen Klopp's side are eager to land a new defender amid the Dutchman's absence as well as the summer move of Dejan Lovren.
According to CalcioMercato, Schalke are ready to sell one of their impressive players in order to go through a rough financial period. It could force the German club to slash Kabak's current £31m (€35m) asking price to £22m (€25m).
