Liverpool are looking to take advantage of the uncertain future of Bayern Munich star James Rodriguez and make a January bid, according to Don Balon.
The Reds have now entered the race to sign the former Real Madrid star has seen him fall out of favour under boss Niko Kovac.
Liverpool are ready to make a £44m bid to try and sign him, but it will not be easy due to the complicated nature of his future.
Rodriguez has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus in recent times, however, James’ number one preference would be a return to Madrid. James would return to Madrid at the end of the loan period next summer to fight for his place, with the likes of Ceballos, Isco, Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
Rodriguez is currently out with a ligament injury to his knee and is unlikely to return before the new year.
