Liverpool are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer. Jurgen Klopp was close to complete a £53m move for Nabil Fekir before pulling out the deal with Lyon earlier this month.
According to Marca, Liverpool have been monitoring Real Madrid player Marco Asensio for several years and now they are ready to complete the move.
Liverpool are willing to pay £158m for Marco making him one of their highest-paid players at the club.
Now both sides will have to wait until the end of Spain’s World Cup campaign.
Marco has made two appearances so far at the tournament.
