Liverpool provided defender boost amid injury crisis

Liverpool have been handed a defensive injury boost as Joel Matip’s ankle injury isn’t as bad as initially feared and he could return as early as the Premier League clash with Brighton next week. The Reds have been suffering this season due to injury crisis as both Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are injured and not expected to return any soon. Matip had to come off at half-time against Tottenham with a problem and the initial reports were that he had ankle ligament issues that could keep him out for a while. However, according to David Maddock for The Mirror, Reds' centre-half could return as early as the clash with the Seagulls next week, meaning he’ll only miss the game with West Ham United. Liverpool will face Hammers on Sunday at the London Stadium. Source- Anfield Watch Join us on Telegram!
