Liverpool reportedly want to sign Ousmane Dembele and have “promised a higher salary than he earns at Barcelona, and above all, a signing bonus of 20 million euros (£17.1m).”
The Blaugranas signed the Frenchman back in 2017,
paying £96.8m up front. Since then, Dembele has scored 30 goals and assisted 21.
However, according to
a report from El Nacional, Jurgen Klopp wants Dembele at Anfield and the Reds are prepared to pay him a massive signing-on bonus.
The 24-year-old's current contract is set to expire in the summer and, while Barcelona’s new boss Xavi is desperate to keep hold of him, his injuries remain a major red flag and Liverpool would be making a major mistake hoping they can sign him and keep him fit.
Upon his arrival at Camp Nou, Xavi said of Dembele:
“For me, Dembele, he can be the best player in the world in his position.
“But you have to work with him and demand it. It depends on him, on his mentality, that he is free from injury, that he has high-performance levels.
“His renewal is a priority for me.”
