Liverpool plan to make two signings in next transfer window including Robertson backup

Transfer expert Duncan Castles has stated that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp plans to make two signings in the next transfer window, including Andy Robertson backup. The Reds are are keen on adding depth up front after pulling out of the race for Timo Werner. Klopp also wants to bring in a defender who can cover left-back Andy Robertson and also play as a centre-back. Castles also claims that Liverpool will have to shift Dejan Lovren before they can bring in a defender. Speaking to the Transfer Window podcast, he said: "The information I have is, while Liverpool are in the market for a centre-back this summer, it's very much dependent on what they're able to do in other areas of the team. They would like to dispense with Dejan Lovren, if Lovren leaves then they will bring in a new centre-back. "They have, as we know, an issue with backup in the left-back position and they're thinking one potential solution for both areas would be to sign a left-footed centre-back who is also comfortable playing at left-back, and that individual to be the cover for Andy Robertson, and another option for them in the centre of defence. "Their priority I'm told remains to add someone to their attack and they're prepared to put resource into that after failing to get Timo Werner after deciding not to exercise his release clause at RB Leipzig despite Jurgen Klopp's extremely hard work to persuader Werner that Liverpool was the right place to begin his career in the Premier League." Liverpool are back to action on Wednesday, as they are set to face Crystal Palace at the Anfield. Source- Daily and Sunday Express
