Fenerbahce have been offered the chance to sign Liverpool player Xherdan Shaqiri by the player’s agents, according to a report. Shaqiri has only made six Premier League appearances this term, scraping in to earn a winners’ medal.
The Swiss star is expected to be sold by Jurgen Klopp this summer after appearing for just one minute in the Premier League this year. The 28-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2023.
According to TivibuSpor reporter Erkut Öztürk, Fenerbahce have been offered the chance to sign him. His representatives are looking for a move for Shaqiri and have offered Shaqiri to the Turkish Super Lig side.
However, Shaqiri, whose weekly wage is around £80,000 a week at Anfield is looking for for a salary of around €3m. That equates to around €57,000 a week, but what’s more the winger is wanting a three-year deal.
The report claims the Turkish outfit are prepared to go to €1.5m per season for the former Stoke man. However, Ozturk states that the deal is not dead and negotiations could take place in the coming weeks with a compromise possible.
