Liverpool have reportedly opened the chequebook to offer Georginio Wijnaldum a huge new contract amid interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan. Wijnaldum’s contract with the club runs until the summer of 2021.
The 30-year-old has made overall 13 appearances during this season for the Reds.
Wijnaldum attracted interest from Barcelona during the summer transfer window when the La Liga side appointed Ronald Koeman as their head coach.
According to Calciomercato, the Reds have tabled a new three-year contract for Wijnaldum and are prepared to give him a huge pay rise. The central midfielder earns roughly £75,000-a-week and Liverpool are willing to increase that by 40 percent.
The report also states that Wijnaldum remains interested in a move to Barcelona, however, the La Liga side will face competition from Inter Milan.
