Liverpool make 'informal contact' with transfer target as Jurgen Klopp plans rebuild


Liverpool continue their race for Sporting Lisbon's Pedro Gonçalves. The Reds made an "informal" contact in the January transfer window. Jurgen Klopp's side is set for a huge summer overhaul as injuries this season has laid lack of depth in the squad. The Reds currently monitoring Goncalves, as a back-up option in attack. The Portuguese star has scored 14 goals in 15 league games current campaign. According to Record Sporting Lisbon already bracing themselves for offers but are determined to retain the player. They also claim that Liverpool continues to be "very attentive" as they consider a bid. Sporting have set a €60m release clause for the player. But Liverpool have directed not to spend that sort of money on new additions.
