Liverpool make decision over replacing Georginio Wijnaldum after his departure

Liverpool are not reportedly planning to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum as the midfielder set to depart the club this summer. The Dutch international is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Barcelona and will join them as a free agent. However, the Reds are not going to bring in a new midfielder if the move goes through and will instead focus on tieing down several first-team stars to long-term deals. According to PA, Jurgen Klopp's side are keen to offer fresh terms to Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson during the summer. On Friday Liverpool confirmed the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig as they made their first step to reinforce their central defence.
