Liverpool have two main transfer priorities as Jurgen Klopp plans late summer deals

Liverpool are holding out for a possible two more incomings by the October 5 deadline. Timo Werner was expected to sign but Liverpool only signed Stefanos Tsimikas. It means Jurgen Klopp head into the new season with relatively the same squad. The Athletic report Liverpool are more likely to do business in the final few days of the window. It is claimed that Liverpool currently have two main priorities this summer. Ismaila Sarr remains a possible option but the Reds aren't prepared to pay the £40m. There could well be more changes at Anfield in the coming days. Ian Rush isn't concerned if Liverpool goes another summer without a top signing. “It’s actually difficult to improve this squad,” Rush told The Athletic. “There’s no point buying just for the sake of it, especially with the situation at the moment. If you go out and buy two, three, four players, it could take a year or two for them to gel. You can’t under-estimate the value of having stability and a settled team. We’ve also got some excellent young players coming through from the academy. “I’m not worried about the lack of signings, I’m excited about this season. Other clubs simply had to spend this summer because they were so far behind. It doesn’t mean it will instantly click for them.”
