Liverpool have been handed a major boost as Mohamed Salah will not take part in Tokyo 2020.
The Olympics are set to take place July 22 to August 7, which could have affected the Reds' pre-season campaign.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are unlikely to give Salah their permission to travel to the Games, as the forward is already set to miss a part of the 2021-22 campaign due to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
And the Egyptian FA have been made aware of Liverpool’s position on the matter, so the 31-goal star will miss this summer's biggest sport event.
