Liverpool might have been handed a major boost in their pursuit for Sheffield United's Sander Berge with the midfielder having a relegation-related clause in his contract that could make him available this summer.
The Blades had their relegation back to the Championship confirmed a couple of weeks ago and a rebuild at Bramall Lane will need to happen in the summer.
According to
The Athletic, the Merseyside club are interested in the player and have been handed a boost by the news that there is a clause in his contract that upon relegation a fee can be paid to get him in.
Berge has played 14 games this season for Sheffield, scored and assisted once.
