Jurgen Klopp is set to play Fabinho at centre-back for Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
Virgil van Dijk is suspended for the last-16 first-leg tie at Anfield, while Joe Gomez is still sidelined after suffering a fractured leg. Dejan Lovren is a major doubt as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury and reportedly Klopp is set to play Fabinho alongside Joel Matip for the visit of the Bundesliga champions.
Jordan Henderson is set to feature in midfield alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Naby Keita. “We are a good side, we know that, but we don’t go into the game as favourites,” said Klopp. “They had a little dip in the league but they still have to play Dortmund in Munich and so becoming champions seven times in a row is still possible for them.
“We will play them with all we have on Tuesday. I’m really looking forward to it. It will be a fantastic atmosphere.”
