Liverpool defender slammed for taking for his risky decisions in Bayern Munich match

Liverpool and Bayern Munich ended up with a goalless draw at Anfield, as everything will be decided at Allianz Arena. Both clubs had selection problems, and as Niko Kovac could not use several attackin players, Jurgen Klopp had no choice to use in the center of defense. Joel Matip and Fabinho started, as Dejan Lovren and Virgil Van Dijk were out of squad due to disqualification and injury. Matip was slammed by Tony Cascarino. Former Ireland national team striker wrote for The Times (via LiverpoolECHO):  “The absence of the suspended Virgil van Dijk and injured Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren forced Jurgen Klopp to push Fabinho back from midfield to centre half. “The move weakened Liverpool in defence, but I have also never been a fan of Joël Matip, his defensive partner last night, who is a centre-back by trade. “You need to rely on players in that position not to make mistakes but you cannot really do that with Matip. “He gave the ball away in his penalty area with a most ridiculous flick using the outside of his boot and was lucky to get away with it. “He is not good enough on the ball to try that and he has to realise it.” Cascarino added.
