Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to the signing of Udinese star Rodrigo de Paul. However, there is a strong interest in the player from Serie A, with AC Milan joining Inter and Juventus in the hunt. Udinese would demand €40m for a player at the peak of his powers. And that asking price appears to have scared the trio off, meaning a move to the Premier League now looks likely. According to Il Milanista, Liverpool lead the race for the player. They are in the market for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield. It’s believed Liverpool will pay Udinese four instalments for De Paul, a totally of £34m and depending on success. That will likely include a downpayment of £15m. De Paul has nine goals and 10 assists in 34 Serie A matches this season.
