Why Liverpool have cancelled a supporters’ dinner with three first-team stars

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were due to meet around 450 fans at Anfield on Tuesday night, however, the dinner was cancelled. The Club manager Jurgen Klopp has apologized to the fans and requested to reschedule the dinner. Liverpool play against Huddersfield on Wednesday and Klopp wants his side to be fully focused on the Premier League and Champions League games. The letter read: “Given our strong position in the Premier League and Champions League, the team is continuing its important preparations for the final key games of the season. Therefore the decision has been taken to postpone this event to a later date which will likely be at the start of the new season. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the change, whilst we know this is disappointing, your tickets will still be valid for the revised date once confirmed.” New date for the meeting will be announced in due course.
