Liverpool can now reportedly sign Schalke defender Ozan Kabak for £18m, instead of £30m.
Head coach Jurgen Klopp has watched his centre-back options crumble in a big way over the past couple of months.
First Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the season with a knee injury, and then Joe Gomez, while on England duty, picked up a similar problem which has him sidelined for the foreseeable future.
So there is good news for the Reds, as 20-year-old Kabak is now reportedly much cheaper than he was back in the summer.
According to
SportBILD in July, the Bundesliga outfit were looking for £31 million, but
Calciomercato reported on Wednesday that financial issues have caused the Germans to lower their valuation to £18 million [€20 million].
A drop of £13 million is pretty substantial and if Liverpool were genuinely interested back in July, they can now get him as January transfer window is set to open.
