Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk could be on a crash course over the centre-back’s planned return from injury. The Dutch international is currently making a slow recovery after sustaining an ACL injury.

Van Dijk was ruled out for the rest of the season following a crunching challenge from Jordan Pickford during the Merseyside Derby in October. According to the Mirror, the defender is keen on returning in time for the Euros and making a comeback for the Netherlands.

Holland boss Frank de Boer has promised Van Dijk a place should he be fit but this won’t go down well in Klopp’s books. The German and his medical staff are horrified at the prospect of Van Dijk playing for his country before returning for Liverpool.
