Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are both ruled out for the foreseeable future and Joel Matip has been yoyo-ing in and out of the treatment room all season, meaning that Fabinho, who is a midfielder, is Klopp’s best and most reliable centre-back by a million miles right now.
According to
The Echo one centre-back of ‘genuine interest’ is Brighton & Hove Albion’s Ben White, whom the Reds scouted ‘extensively’ past season during a loan with Leeds United.
The 23-year-old is valued
at around £50 million by the Seagulls and The Echo added that one thing in particular about White will be ‘extremely attractive’ to Klopp – his versatility.
The former Leeds loanee can play right-back and Marcelo Bielsa also used him as a defensive midfielder at times last term when he needed to.
