Liverpool are eyeing Watford forward Ismaila Sarr, according to Paul Gorst of the Liverpool ECHO. However, whether Jurgen Klopp’s reported interest turns into a formal bid remains to be seen in the current economic crises. Gorst confirms Sarr is the right type of profile to befit that of Liverpool as well as a high ceiling to take his game to the next level given his young age. If Liverpool were to make their reported interest concrete, it will take a bid in the region of £40 million to get Watford’s attention. The 22-year-old cost Watford £30m from Rennes last summer. It is claimed that Sarr himself would be keen on a move to Anfield given it would allow him to link up with his compatriot and footballing hero Sadio Mane. Speaking during a Q&A for the ECHO, Gorst said: “Ismaila Sarr I was told recently is definitely someone being looked at. Whether that turns into a formal bid remains to be seen but Liverpool like him. He’s the right sort of profile and has a high ceiling to improve. They could also take advantage of Watford’s relegation too.”
