Liverpool and United issued Tottenham warning over Gareth Bale, Harry Kane, Heung-min Son

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been warned that Tottenham will show a much more powerful threat in this season's Premier League campaign. Spurs were held to a 3-3 draw by West Ham on Sunday, but Graeme Souness says with Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son upfront they have one of the best strikeforce in the top flight. Souness says once Bale gets back up to speed, Tottenham's forward line will be as good as that of Liverpool or Manchester City. "With Bale on board, I believe Spurs can catapult themselves back to a Champions League spot," wrote the former Liverpool midfielder in his column for The Times. "I’m not saying they will be title contenders but they can take points off the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. The reason for that is not down to Bale alone but because of the combined potency of their front three. "Bale, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min — this is an attack that deserves to be bracketed alongside Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino at Liverpool, as well as whoever Barcelona or Real Madrid put out in those forward positions. Manchester United would sell their souls to have such an effective strikeforce." Souness reckons all three of Kane, Son and Bale could get into double figures in the goalscoring charts this season. "It is not impossible that each of those Spurs players could end the season with 20 goals to their name," he added. "That more than makes up for their deficiencies at the back and in midfield (United made it into the Champions League last season with 66 goals across their entire league squad)." Souness said Bale's fitness will be key with Wales forward now into his 30s. "The big if in all this is Bale, Kane and Son staying fit," wrote Souness. "Bale is now 31, not quite in his prime but he should still have a couple of good seasons at the elite end of the game. Mourinho needs to have a word with him and say: 'I don’t want you pulling any hamstrings turning to sprint back to bail out your defence. If you are going to pull a muscle, let it be taking a man on, dipping your shoulder to go past him around the box.' "Spurs probably won’t enjoy majority possession when they take on 'big six' rivals but he only needs a few chances in the right area to make it count. The sight of him making those powerful runs and unleashing that left boot is one which any neutral, as much as a Tottenham fan, should want to see." Tottenham's next game is at home to Austrian side LASK in the Europa League on Thursday.
