Lionel Messi has lavished praise on 'great opponents' Manchester City after PSG's 2-0 Champions League triumph over the Premier League champions.
Idrissa Gueye and Messi both netted to hand the Parisians an amazing win on Tuesday night.
And following the win, the six time Ballon d'Or winner praised City as he revealed his relief at getting his first goal for his new side.
Speaking to Canal+, Messi said:
"They were great opponents. It was very important for us to win the match after our draw against Brugge. I’m very happy to have scored."
The Argentinian also added:
"I hadn’t been able to play recently and this was only my second game in this stadium. I’m adapting to my new team.
"The more we forwards play together the better our relationship will be. We all need to grow together and improve and keep giving our best."
