"Lionel Messi has one foot out of the door at Barcelona": claims Francisco Carrasco

Francisco Carrasco believes Lionel Messi has never been more close to leaving Barcelona, following the latest incidents. Messi has shown his irritation after the club sporting director Eric Abidal's controversial comments that suggest the players "weren't working hard" under the sacked manager Ernesto Valverde. The Argentina international wrote on Instagram. "Honestly, I don’t like doing these things but I think that everyone has to be responsible for his acts and take responsibility for their own decisions.  The players [are responsible for] what happens on the pitch, and we have been the first to recognise when we were not good.  The people in the sporting directorate should also assume their responsibility and above all take ownership of the decisions they make. Finally, I think that when players are talked about, names should be given because, if not, we are all being dirtied and it feeds comments that are made and are not true."  Speaking on the case, the former Barcelona winger Carrasco told El Chiringuito, per AS: "He [Messi] is ill at ease. In all the years I've been watching him and have loved the way he plays, it's the first time Messi has looked to me like he has one foot out of the door. I've never had to say that before." However, Carrasco is not the only one suggesting that Messi's future with Catalan giants is unclear. It has been reported, that the last Champions League failures as well as Neymar's failed signing also play a huge role in the players' disappointment. Yet, Messi could choose to leave Camp Nou at the end of each season, due to a special clause in his contract.
