Lionel Messi adds new award to his collection

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has won the Golden Shoe award for the fifth time in his career. The prestigious trophy is awarded to the player with the most goals in league matches in the top division of each European league. By winning the award, Messi becomes the first player to have won it more times than any other player in football history as he has scored 34 La Liga goals in the 2017/18 season. The other contenders for the award were Premier League duo Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane. And during this season, Lionel Messi so far has scored 14 times in 14 matches.
