Liam Cooper offers his support to Billy Gilmour after COVID19 positive test

Leeds United star Liam Cooper has offered his support to Scotland teammate Billy Gilmour, who has tested positive for COVID19. Scotland are preparing to face Croatia on Tuesday, June 22 in the final game of the group stage. Croatia and Scotland currently have one point and are 3rd and 4th in the group respectively. Gilmour will now miss the match due to having tested positive for COVID. “Obviously we weren’t allowed to rally round him. But I’ve been in Billy’s shoes myself – and it’s not a nice place to be," he said. “We obviously all wish him a speedy recovery. I spoke to him earlier. He says he has no symptoms at the minute and hopefully he stays like that. “With me having had Covid myself, I know how rough it can be. I got the symptoms. I really struggled with it for a few days. It was difficult to deal with, the headache and losing my sense of smell and taste. It’s not nice. “But obviously John Fleck got through it a couple of weeks ago without having any symptoms. “We want him to stay symptom free and we wish him a speedy recovery. “We’re all just really gutted for Billy, first and foremost. He’s just announced himself on the world stage with a great performance at Wembley – and now this happens. “But that’s the world we’re living in at the moment, the world we’ve all had to adjust to. “Our love goes out to him and we’re all hoping he makes a speedy recovery. We’ll be doing whatever we can to lift his spirits.”   source - LeedsLive / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
