Formula 1 drivers exchanged Secret Santa gifts in Abu Dhabi.
Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo received a karaoke microphone.
“The first person that comes to mind with this, the very, very first person was Charles [Leclcerc],” said Ricciardo. Because he got interviewed in Suzuka and I was signing in another interview next to him.”
He also received a karaoke machine, to go along with his microphone and top 40 biggest karaoke Christmas hits album.
He said: “I’m so confused. I thought we had a €20 budget or something. I think this person has really gone all out. What am I going to do as soon as you guys leave? I’m setting this up in my room.”
Max Verstappen of Red Bull received a miniature golf gift set: “
Ha, oh my god I know already who it is, Carlos [Sainz]. I’ll probably have to play some golf with him now. It must be Carlos, did you guys do this on purpose that he choose for me. I am really bad at golf and I don’t like golf, so the combination of all this makes it perfect.”
Red Bull driver Alex Albon received jumbo-sized rear-view mirror.
It was a Lewis Hamilton inspired present related to the pair’s crash in Brazil.
“I should have known,” he continued. “I’ll tell my mechanic to fit it on so I make sure that I can see Lewis [Hamilton] next time. Perfect.”
Christmas wouldn’t be complete unless someone got the classic gift-socks.
“Daniel,” Leclerc said as he guessed straight away before going on to explain why. We went to Las Vegas for holidays and I had very bad socks, so I finally get the socks I wanted. Thank you so much Daniel I am so happy. That’s a lot of socks though.”
