Lewis Hamilton edges closer to Ferrari switch because of Toto Wolff's strange decision

Lewis Hamilton is edging back towards joining Ferrari after Mercedes boss Toto Wolff made a strange decision. Wolff made the strange choice to not attend one of F1's most important meetings in recent years and reports suggest that decision could push Lewis Hamilton closer to joining Ferrari. Hamilton's £40million-a-year deal expires at the end of 2020 and he is currently weighing up his options. The Brit has admitted his future at Mercedes depends on whether Wolff remains in charge. F1 chiefs met yesterday for an emergency coronavirus meeting to discuss how the sport should proceed once the epidemic passes by. But Wolff sent technical director James Allison instead to cast the Silver Arrows' vote. The Daily Mail claim it is because the Austrian took a flight back from Australian alongside Racing Point owner Lance Stroll, suggesting, that Wolff could join Aston Martin. Source: Express
